Lit'l Lizards
and Walkershaw Team up at New Retail Clothing Store in Noe Valley

San Francisco - Popular San Francisco clothing designers Liz TerboLizard and Connie Walkershaw have opened a retail store and studio in Noe Valley.

The store is a hybrid studio and retail showroom where the designers are offering their latest designs as well as sewing classes for kids and adults. The retail store sells clothing for men, women and children designed and created in-house by TerboLizard and Walkershaw.

Both designers also offer custom services for bridal, formalwear, clothing, drapery and home decor items, as well as vintage clothing restoration and tailoring services from the workshop housed at the same location.

The workshop's classes are project-based, meaning that beginners- including those who have never used a sewing machine- can quickly learn to design and create a garment, costume, or accessory, learning helpful tricks and short cuts as they complete their work. Classes are offered to adults and children, and are structured so that all participants will receive a high level of individual attention and instruction.

"There's a huge level of satisfaction in creating your own clothes," said TerboLizard, "Whether it's an elaborate dress or a Halloween costume, being able to say, 'I made it myself' is fun. Our approach to teaching embraces that fun."

For more advanced students, Terbolizard and Walkershaw are offering classes in design, pattern making, product development, and home decor creation. TerboLizard's extensive background in product development and marketing are a key element of the advanced classes.

"So many people have great ideas, but don't know how to turn a concept into a finished product and then get the products into stores," said TerboLizard. "I have worked with clients on projects ranging from adult and children's wear to bedding, pet apparel to messenger bags. We'll help them from end to end in that process, starting with refining their idea, pricing, production and sales."

"We see a lot of people who think that custom-designed and tailored clothing is out of their price range," said Walkershaw. "But we work hard to keep our custom work affordable. There's a great deal of pleasure in owning one or two items that are unique and perfectly fit to your body."
